Social Investment
As a business, Trade Press delivers media products and services that matter for our clients and audiences. As a neighbor and contributor to our community, we value new ideas and practices that matter to those around us. Trade Press’ social investments reflect a dedication to the community not only by senior management, but every single employee.
In 2005, Trade Press launched Hope Chest – a charitable giving committee led by a different voluntary group of employees each year. To date the Hope Chest committee has distributed company funds to nearly fifty 501(c)3 charitable organizations. Here is just a sample of the worthy charities who have received support from Hope Chest:
- Boys & Girls Club
- Center for Deaf & Hard of Hearing
- Darfur Action Coalition of Wisconsin
- Hunger Task Force
- IAFF burn victims
- Journey House
- Keep Wisconsin Warm
- Gilda's Club of SE WI
- Camp Heartland
- Latino Arts
- Rosalie Manor
- St. Bens Hospice
- Urban Ecology Center
- Wisconsin Mental Health-Invisible Children
- YMCA Skillz 4 Success
The community at Trade Press is dedicated to working with steadfast charitable organizations to empower those in need. We are continually seeking ways to share our talents and resources with those who need them most.
Volunteering is Important Business
An important employee benefit for the entire Trade Press staff is the volunteering program.
Every year, employees are given eight hours of paid work leave to volunteer at a 501(c)3
organization of their choice. As an example, Trade Press is a supporting partner of Carleton Elementary School in Milwaukee. Employees have volunteered their time as mentors, attended school presentations and functions, organized winter clothing drives, helped create the school's annual Dr. Maya Angelou Voices of Literature Celebration and more.
